AUGUST 27, 2020

Right-wing pundit and professional anti-Semite Rick Wiles told God to “muzzle” Hurricane Laura during his “TruNews” show yesterday.

That was before it jumped to an extremely dangerous Category 4 storm and made landfall overnight. While the hurricane has decreased to a Category 2 storm, it’s still creating chaos and there’s no telling how many lives will be lost, and how many billions of dollars in property will be damaged, by the time it’s over.

So much for a muzzling.

Father, Almighty God, we, Your church, Your saints, Your sons and daughters, we come to you, Father…

And so father, our brethren in Texas and Louisiana are facing a great catastrophe tomorrow. If this storm is not muzzled. Father, the experts are saying that it’s “unsurvivable.” That’s what they say. And in its present condition, it is unsurvivable. But, Father, we’re asking you in the name of Jesus Christ to change the condition of that storm.

And by the authority that is in the name of Jesus, we muzzle Hurricane Laura. Father, we muzzle that storm. That it cannot bring catastrophic damage to Texas and Louisiana. We muzzle the winds. We muzzle the rain. We muzzle the tornadoes. By the power that is in the name of Jesus Christ, we command Hurricane Laura to weaken. We command the eye of the storm to split and the storm weaken. And we command the wind speeds to decrease. Father, we command the storm to veer away from the coast.

Father, let it be done for your glory and honor. Let the experts be befuddled and confused and unable to explain the bizarre behavior of Hurricane Laura.

Father, we ask that you muzzle this hurricane and turn it into a tropical storm. In the name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.

How many people have to die before Wiles admits his prayer failed?

Hurricanes increase and decrease in ferocity based on a number of factors. The type of prayers people offer isn’t one of them. (Climate change, which conservatives deny, is a factor.)

By the way, a couple of years ago, Wiles cited “sexual perversion” as the reason Houston, Texas was ravaged by a hurricane. And earlier this year, he blamed the COVID outbreak on parents “transgendering little children,” whatever that’s supposed to mean. He’s not only a bigot. He’s completely ignorant.

He also hopes no one will ever remember his prayers after they don’t come true.
