Another “Good Christian Man” – Arkansas Sheriff Todd Wright, who was forced to resign after being caught on tape repeatedly using despicable racial slurs, blames his poor behavior on the devil, and argues he can’t be a racist because he is a “Christian man.”

The sheriff of an Arkansas Delta county has resigned under pressure after a recording of a man identified as him delivering a racist rant went viral. Arkansas County Sheriff Todd Wright resigned Friday at the request of the county’s Quorum Court after the Pine Bluff Commercial reported a five-minute audio recording circulated on Facebook this week.
On the recording an angry and irate Sheriff Wright can be heard repeatedly using the N-word as he berates a woman for speaking with a black man while at the Piggly Wiggly supermarket.
At one point Wright asks the woman:
Why you got to holler at f*cking n*ggers when I’m around?
At another point Sheriff Wright referred to the black man as a “dread head n*gger” while calling the woman he is yelling at a “n*gger lover.”

Reporting on the special meeting of the Arkansas County Quorum Court during which Sheriff Wright ultimately resigned for his deplorable behavior, USA Today notes that Wright blamed his actions “on the devil.”
At the meeting Sheriff Wright tried to defend himself by declaring:
I’m a Christian man. I read my bible everyday. I am by no means a racist. That video does not show the true picture of me.
