Pro Virus: In a despicable dereliction of duty, Georgia Governor Brian Kemp has issued an order overriding all local mask mandates in the state.
ABC News reports:
Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp explicitly voids local mask mandates, as other states order face coverings to fight pandemic.
The Hill reports:
Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp (R) is prohibiting local municipalities across the state from mandating that masks be worn in public to mitigate the spread of the coronavirus.
Kemp’s executive order issued Wednesday prevents local governments from enforcing mandatory face-covering orders that are more restrictive than the current statewide order. The move effectively voided orders issued by at least 15 local governments across the state…
Associated Press reports:
Georgia’s Gov. Brian Kemp is explicitly banning Georgia’s cities and counties from ordering people to wear masks in public places. He voided orders on Wednesday that at least 15 local governments across the state had adopted even though Kemp had earlier said cities and counties had no power to order masks.
Speaking for many, Savannah Mayor Van Johnson slammed Kemp for his dangerous and deplorable order explicitly banning cities and counties from issuing mask mandates. Noting that Kemp was ignoring the science, Johnson tweeted:
It is officially official. Governor Kemp does not give a damn about us. Every man and woman for himself/herself. Ignore the science and survive the best you can. In #Savannah, we will continue to keep the faith and follow the science. Masks will continue to be available!
More reactions to Kemp’s ruling via Twitter:
Last April Kemp made headlines after demonstrating an astonishing intellectual incompetence by making the ludicrous claim that he didn’t know asymptomatic people could transmit the COVID-19 virus.
Bottom line: Deliberately placing lives at risk, Georgia Governor Brian Kemp has issued an order overriding all local mask mandates in the state.
