#MAGA – Florida County Commissioner Paul Waldron, a Trump-loving Republican who voted against a mask mandate late last month, has been hospitalized in critical condition with COVID-19.

Newsweek reports:
Paul Waldron—the commissioner for St. Johns County just south of Jacksonville, Florida—has tested positive for COVID-19 and is currently in the hospital in critical condition. Last week, Waldron voted against a countywide order requiring all residents to wear face masks as a way to prevent coronavirus infections.
A report via CBS News and dated June 30 documents Waldron’s opposition to a mask mandate:
St. Johns Board of County Commissioners took up the issue of whether masks should be mandated countywide amid the COVID-19 pandemic in a special meeting on Tuesday.
The motion was seconded and voted on. It failed by a count of 3-2. Commissioners Smith, James Johns, Paul Waldron voted against the motion. Dean and Blocker voted in favor of it.
A Facebook post written earlier this week by his daughter, Ashley Waldron Zapata, said Waldron was in the “most critical of conditions,” adding that because of “complications from the virus, he went into septic shock and many organs are struggling.”
Waldron’s daughter wrote:
He is currently in the most critical of conditions. I ask you not to doubt the power of prayer.
In a follow-up post she wrote:
The hospital is working hard to keep him comfortable and continuously monitoring him. His blood gas levels have improved today and numbers are holding.
In a statement about the matter St. Johns County Administrator Hunter Conrad wrote:
We are aware of Commissioner Waldron’s situation and are praying for his health and his family. We also ask each of you to pray for him and his family during this time.
Newsweek notes: “Waldron has served as St. Johns County Commissioner since 2016 and had planned to run unopposed for the office again in 2020.”
