7 Not-So-Incredible Bible “Facts”

There’s a popular body of “facts” about the Bible that circulates Christianity in America today. These statements are used bolster believers’ confidence that the Bible is more than just another religious text, and to suggest that only the supernatural can account for its amazing history. Today I look at a video – titled “7 AMAZING Bible Facts That Will BLOW YOUR MIND!” – that compiles a lot of these popular canards, pretends they’re somehow new information, and offers them as irrefutable proof that the Bible is the word of God. But when we take a closer look, it becomes clear that these “facts” are either way less remarkable than Christians think or simply untrue. (That’s why I put the word facts in quotations, in case you didn’t know. It’s a thing people do when they’re being sarcastic.)
