The Stupid, It Burns: President Trump is promoting a wild conspiracy theory video featuring a doctor who claims demon sperm causes disease, and that “you don’t need a mask” because she can “cure” coronavirus with the discredited drug hydroxychloroquine.

President Donald Trump went on a late night Twitter binge on Monday with more than a dozen posts pushing dubious claims about the drug hydroxychloroquine, including twice retweeting a video from a woman falsely claiming that the drug was a “cure” for Covid-19 and that “you don’t need a mask.”

Two of Trump’s Monday night tweets focused on Stella Immanuel, who had appeared outside Capitol Hill on Friday with a several other doctors to make a series of outlandish claims while dismissing other “fake doctors” who doubt the efficacy of the drug as well as the idea of double blind clinical studies to scientifically test medical treatments.
The woman making the false claims is Dr. Stella Immanuel, a pediatrician and a religious minister. The Daily Beast reports:
Dr. Stella Immanuel, a pediatrician and a religious minister, has a history of making bizarre claims about medical topics and other issues. She has often claimed that gynecological problems like cysts and endometriosis are in fact caused by people having sex in their dreams with demons and witches.
She alleges alien DNA is currently used in medical treatments, and that scientists are cooking up a vaccine to prevent people from being religious. And, despite appearing in Washington, D.C. to lobby Congress on Monday, she has said that the government is run in part not by humans but by “reptilians” and other aliens.
The video featuring Immanuel and other fringe medical doctors was released by the ultra-conservative and disreputable conspiracy theory website Breitbart News. The ridiculous video has been recognized as “dangerous misinformation” and social media companies have been trying to remove it from their platforms. MSNBC reports:
… evidently the president saw an online video featuring Stella Immanuel, a woman who purports to be a Houston-based medical professional, making the case that hydroxychloroquine can “cure” people of COVID-19. Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube agreed that the content was false and potentially dangerous misinformation, and as such, the online giants took down the video.
In fact, Twitter temporarily suspended the account of Donald Trump Jr for sharing the video.
As for Immanuel, she is mad at Facebook for taking down her dangerous and ridiculous conspiracy theory video, and threatening the company with divine retribution if her page is not restored:
In short, Trump, the supposed leader of the free world, has abandoned science and is taking medical advice from a charlatan who claims disease is caused by having sex with demons, that alien DNA is being used in medical treatments, that scientists are creating a vaccine to stop people from being religious, and that the U.S. government is being run in part by lizard people.
Wow.
Bottom line: Trump’s new favorite COVID doctor claims demon sperm causes disease, and that “you don’t need a mask” because she can “cure” coronavirus with the discredited drug hydroxychloroquine.
