COVIDIOT: After claiming God had given him immunity to COVID-19, conservative pastor E.W. Jackson reveals that he and his wife have contracted the virus.
Newsweek reports:
Months after he told his congregation that he wouldn’t get coronavirus, conservative pastor E.W. Jackson announced in a Facebook Live sermon that he and his wife had tested positive for COVID-19.
Last March, Jackson, pastor for Exodus Faith Ministries, talk radio host, former candidate for Virginia lieutenant governor, and enthusiastic supporter of President Donald Trump, preached a fiery sermon about COVID-19, claiming that he was immune to the virus because he had “talked to God about it.”
In the sermon Jackson declared:
I don’t have the coronavirus! I’m not gonna get the coronavirus! I’m not gonna give anybody the coronavirus! Cause I can’t get it, because I talked to God about it, and I’ve taken my vaccine — my vaccine is Psalm 91 — and I am FREE from that mess!

And I declare you can be free from it too.

I read an article, and it was criticizing me, and part of it, they said, like, “He acts like Christians can’t get the coronavirus!” Now, I never said that. I never said that! Because of course they can! But here’s what I’m saying: You don’t have to. If you guys believe in God, you don’t have to. Hallelujah! And if you don’t have to, then don’t.
Yet despite his supposed conversation with God, Jackson announced earlier this week that he and his wife had contracted the virus. Speaking on Facebook live, Jackson said:
It’s good to see all of you here today. It’s good to be with you today. It’s good to see all of you on Facebook Live. I want to say that I’ve been out for the last several weeks, probably… because I was speaking somewhere else. And last week, I was out because I was tested positive for COVID-19. So… but I’m back, I’m healthy, I’m sound, I’m whole, praise God. I’m feeling good…
And my wife, of course, she got it from me… but she’s doing fine too. And she’s gonna be back to work tomorrow.
How It Started: “I’m not gonna get the coronavirus… I can’t get it, because I talked to God about it.”
How It Ended: “I was tested positive for COVID-19.”
The stupid, it burns.
