Martyrs To Ignorance: Three Christian activists in Florida were arrested after refusing to wear masks during a Cape Coral City Council meeting earlier this week.

Three people were arrested for resisting officers without violence outside of the Cape Coral City Council meeting Monday afternoon. The three were arrested after “causing a disturbance and disregarding officers’ multiple warnings and lawful orders,” according to the Cape Coral Police Department.
All three of the suspects tried to get into City Hall through a restricted stairway, police said. “Officers tried multiple times to have the three enter properly through security, which was met with continued defiance,” CCPD said in a release Monday night.
According to the report, the Christian activists arrested were 39-year-old Edmee Chavannes of New York, 29-year-old Bevelyn Beatty of Maine, and 70-year-old Kenneth Scott of Colorado, who was also charged with trespassing.
Speaking with NBC2 reporter Cristina Mendez, one of the Christian activists, Bevelyn Beatty of Maine, tried to justify her actions by saying:
The reality is the Bible tells us that we are called to go and minister the gospel throughout the earth. This is a Christian nation, it’s a Christian country, and our Christian values in America. That’s why our founding fathers gave us a first amendment right, which God gave us first and foremost. They just made to sure to put it in black and white for the constitution for freedom of speech. So our job as Christians is so go and minister the gospel. The reality is this: That mask won’t protect you but Jesus will protect you.
After the arrest of the activists, Florida State Rep. Anthony Sabatini announced he would defend the three Christian activists pro-bono, arguing that the three defendants were unlawfully arrested for not wearing a mask, according to a report from the Cape Coral Daily Breeze.
Discussing the case, and expressing his skepticism about the efficacy of wearing masks,Rep. Sabatini said:
I have been very vocal against the lockdown, overreach and government mandates and it’s blended into my legal practice…
They dropped the hammer on the scientific community, saying they needed to mandate face coverings permanently. Not only is it outside the role of government, the effectiveness of masks is greatly exaggerated. The media has ignored this.
Clearly Rep. Sabatini, a Republican, does not understand science, and is a gullible troll susceptible to conspiracy theory nonsense.
